I am very proud to announce the official kick-off with the construction of The City of Markham’s New City Hall Project.

Over the past 2 years, I have worked with officials to find a location and approve funding for this New City Hall Project.  We can celebrate with the residents of Markham the fact that hard work pays off.  Ground Breaking took place on Wednesday June 11, 2008.  By the fall of next year, this New City Hall will be up and running.

In addition, during the current administration the City of Markham has received approval and/or has completed many projects:
  • Completion of the new Markham City Library
  • Widened 163rd Street and added sidewalks and new sewers
  • The subdivision of Coral Gables has been annexed (approx. 60 acres)
  • Recent deployment of new fleet of high tech police vehicles
  • Increased academic standards and achievement in Prairie-Hills School District
  • New homes are being built
  • On-line Utility Bill Payment System

This administration is listening to your suggestions, evaluating the issues, prioritizing our community’s needs, and carefully plotting our course through challenging obstacles.  We have reached out to our congressional, state, county officials and other community leaders in the City of Markham.

Once again, I extend my sincere and humble thanks to the citizens and businesses of Markham, for their continued support of my efforts to make Markham an even better place to live and raise a family…. Thank you very much for affording me the privilege to serve as Markham’s Chief Executive.

Sincerely,

Mayor David Webb, Jr.
